AV TECHNICIAN (AUDIO FOCUS)
Step into a hands-on AV role supporting a leading technology company's corporate campus, where you will mix live audio for events, live streams, and the weekly all-hands meeting, and keep the rest of the campus running through conference room support, break/fix, ticketing, and new control room builds. This is a full-time, on-site position in Menlo Park, CA. Strong live audio skills are central to this role, and the right person brings a do-it-all attitude across video, conference rooms, and infrastructure. Candidates must currently reside within a commutable distance of Menlo Park, Ca to be considered.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Live Events & Audio
- Set up, operate, and mix audio for internal events, live streams, and the all-hands meeting every Friday.
- Run a stream/broadcast mix and an in-house mix at the same time on Yamaha DM3 and DM7 consoles.
- Manage gain structure, EQ, and mic technique to keep the house mix free of feedback while delivering a balanced program feed to the stream.
- Configure and manage Shure ULX-D and Axient Digital (AXD) wireless systems, including frequency coordination, battery management, and mic placement on presenters.
- Route audio across Dante networks in Dante Controller, including device setup and troubleshooting on link-local networks.
- Deploy and position QSC K8 and K12 powered speakers for in-room PA.
- Run audio, video, and lighting checks before every event and confirm all equipment is ready before start time.
- Provide in-room AV support during events and escalate issues quickly when needed.
Conference Rooms & Break/Fix
- Perform routine AV system checks in executive and conference rooms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve conference room AV issues and break/fix requests.
- Work AV support tickets through to resolution and keep ticket records current.
- Coordinate with the AV Supervisor and IT teams on system-level issues that need escalation.
Infrastructure & Control Room Builds
- Support the build-out of new control rooms and AV spaces, including equipment installation, cabling, and system testing.
- Learn the campus AV infrastructure and how signal flows across rooms and venues.
- Keep AV areas organized and clean, with all cabling properly managed.
Scheduling & Logistics
- Track AV needs for upcoming meetings and events and support room setup logistics.
- Keep documentation current on equipment usage and maintenance logs.
- Support gear labeling, inventory management, and minor equipment moves.
- Complete room resets and reconfigurations as directed by AV leadership.
Other projects or tasks may be assigned as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Do-It-All Attitude: You jump into whatever the day needs, from a live mix to a conference room ticket to a control room build, and you treat unfamiliar systems as something to learn, not something outside your job description.
- Problem Solving: You diagnose and resolve AV issues quickly, both in daily operations and in the middle of a live event.
- Composure Under Pressure: You stay steady and solutions-focused in high-visibility moments.
- Attention to Detail: Your spaces are organized, your cables are managed, and your documentation is current.
- Communication: You communicate clearly with stakeholders, AV teams, and IT support, both in person and in writing.
- Collaboration: You work well with AV leadership, IT teams, and outside vendors.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 3 or more years of hands-on experience as an AV Technician or AV Engineer in corporate, live event, or broadcast environments, including live audio mixing.
- Strong understanding of audio and video signal flow.

- Working knowledge of Dante audio networking, including routing in Dante Controller and operating on link-local networks.
- Experience with Shure ULX-D and Axient Digital (AXD) wireless microphone systems, including frequency coordination.
- Experience deploying portable PA systems such as QSC K8 and K12 powered speakers.
