About the job
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain shared backend platforms, services, and products operating at significant scale. You will use AI-assisted coding tools and collaborate with engineering, data science, product, design, and business partners to deliver reliable, high-quality software.
Enterprise experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance software systems.
- Contribute to system architecture and technical design, validating solutions through data and experimentation where appropriate.
- Participate in code and design reviews to uphold high engineering standards.
- Own and support applications during business hours, ensuring system health and reliability.
- Use metrics, logging, and analytics to make data-informed decisions and improve system performance.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, data science, and design teams to deliver effective solutions.
- Contribute to cross-team initiatives and support other engineers through mentorship and knowledge sharing.
Must-Have Skills
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with at least 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with no prior experience.
- Proficiency in one or more modern backend programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, or similar.
- Experience building and operating large-scale, high-performance, and resilient systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.

- One or more modern backend programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, or similar.

Location, Time & Engagement
- Candidates must be based in an eligible LATAM location.
- Working-hour coverage aligned with U.S. Central or Pacific Time is required.
