Join us and become part of our powerhouse of award-winning creative brands and industry-leading talent. We’re looking for a Global Head of Resource Management to lead resource planning across Pitch Black, helping our studios make the best use of their talent, share capacity and prepare for upcoming production needs. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll directly manage our Brand Resource Managers and own the consolidated view of demand, capacity and utilization across the group. You’ll turn that information into practical allocation decisions, balancing artist skills, production commitments, cost, quality and sustainable workloads. You’ll set global resource priorities and lead collaboration between studios, while Brand Resource Managers handle individual artist bookings, detailed staffing schedules and day-to-day coordination. What you’ll do Lead global capacity planning - Build a consolidated view of confirmed and prospective show demand, available talent, skills and studio capacity. - Model staffing scenarios and identify upcoming gaps, available capacity and delivery risks. - Translate forecasts into timely recommendations for redeployment, recruitment, contract extensions and external support. Drive collaboration and resource sharing between studios - Lead workforce planning calls with the local leadership teams - Match available capacity across brands and locations with production needs. - Set cross-studio allocation priorities with Production and guide Brand Resource Managers through implementation. - Work with Production, Technology and People & Culture to resolve barriers to sharing resources. - Assess allocation options against skill fit, total cost, technical readiness and delivery risk. Improve utilization and commercial outcomes - Lead actions to reduce avoidable downtime and balance workloads without creating sustained overtime pressure. - Assess internal capacity and cross-studio options before recommending additional hiring or external resources. - Partner with Finance to understand deployment costs and evaluate the commercial impact of resource decisions. - Resolve competing resource demands within agreed budgets and priorities, escalating exceptions to the COO. Build consistent planning practices - Establish common forecasting assumptions, utilization definitions, reporting standards and planning processes. - Ensure Brand Resource Managers maintain accurate local inputs that support reliable global decisions. - Provide clear capacity and utilization reporting, highlighting risks, options and recommended actions. - Improve planning tools, templates and ways of working across studios. Lead and develop the resource management team - Directly manage and coach Brand Resource Managers, setting clear objectives, responsibilities and performance expectations. - Build trusted partnerships with Production, Department leadership, Talent Acquisition, People & Culture, Finance and Technology. - Create a collaborative resourcing function that balances global priorities with each studio’s operational needs. - Support internal mobility and development opportunities through effective deployment of talent. - Experience leading resource, capacity or workforce planning in VFX, including planning across multiple studios or locations. - Demonstrated success improving utilization and coordinating the sharing of talent across teams or studios. - Experience managing resource managers or an equivalent planning team. - A strong understanding of VFX production schedules, discipline requirements and the dependencies involved in cross-studio work. - Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including lookup functions, pivot tables, data modeling and scenario planning. - Strong working knowledge of ShotGrid and production tracking workflows. - Sound commercial judgment, with the ability to balance cost, capacity, skills and delivery commitments. - Clear communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and resolve competing priorities. - The ability to turn complex information into practical recommendations and make timely decisions as circumstances change. Additional experience we’d value - Establishing shared resource planning standards across brands or business units. - Leading cross-studio capacity sharing and redeployment through local resource management teams. Why join Pitch Black? You’ll have the opportunity to shape how talent and capacity are managed across our studios. Working directly with the COO and brand leadership, you’ll build a connected global resourcing function, enable greater collaboration between studios and help artists access opportunities across the group.
