Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking an IT Lead Data Analyst to join our Operations team.
The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for helping define and drive CFC’s business intelligence, reporting, and analytics strategy while managing the Data Analytics team and providing day-to-day leadership and direction to its team members. This role combines strong business acumen, technical expertise, people leadership, and hands-on analytical capabilities to ensure the team delivers accurate, timely, and actionable information that supports operational, marketing, collections, customer journey, and other core business functions.
The Lead Data Analyst partners closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand business needs, establish priorities, define meaningful performance measures, and translate business questions into effective data and analytics solutions. The role provides leadership across CFC’s analytics capabilities, including data from core systems of record, banking and credit card processing platforms, web and mobile applications, and digital behavioral and telemetry platforms such as Adobe Analytics. The Lead will help establish analytics strategy, manage and prioritize team workload, improve data quality and governance, and develop scalable reporting and measurement practices while remaining hands-on with data, systems, and analytical solutions.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and lead the Data Analytics team, including establishing priorities, assigning and managing workload, setting expectations, coaching and developing team members, providing performance feedback, and ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of reporting and analytics solutions.
- Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to understand business objectives, identify analytical opportunities, define key performance measures, and translate business needs into actionable reporting, analytics, and data strategies.
- Lead the development and continued evolution of CFC’s business intelligence and analytics capabilities, including dashboards, reporting, data analysis, and analytical solutions using Tableau, Snowflake, SQL, SQL Server, Adobe Analytics, and related technologies.
- Maintain a hands-on role in analyzing business, operational, customer, portfolio, and behavioral data; investigating complex data questions; understanding relationships across systems and data sources; and ensuring that analytical conclusions are supported by accurate and reliable information.
- Develop a strong understanding of data across CFC’s technology ecosystem, including core systems of record, banking and credit card processing platforms, web and mobile applications, and digital analytics and telemetry platforms, and help integrate these sources to create a more complete understanding of customer and business performance.
- Establish and promote high standards for data quality, metric definitions, reporting consistency, analytics governance, and validation practices, including identifying discrepancies, determining root causes, and working across business and technology teams to improve the reliability and usability of CFC’s data.
- Communicate analytical findings, business trends, recommendations, and data strategy effectively to technical and non-technical audiences, while driving continuous improvement in how CFC uses data to measure performance, understand customer behavior, and make informed business decisions.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- 4–6 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a related discipline, including experience directly managing or supervising data analytics, business intelligence, or other technical team members, with demonstrated ability to coach employees, manage priorities, and drive team performance.
- Strong hands-on technical skills, including advanced SQL and experience working with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake, SQL Server, or similar technologies, along with experience developing dashboards and analytical solutions using Tableau or comparable business intelligence tools.
- Demonstrated ability to understand complex data and systems, trace data across multiple sources, investigate inconsistencies, and determine how to obtain accurate and reliable information from operational and analytical data environments.
- Experience working with both traditional systems-of-record data and digital behavioral or telemetry data. Experience with web/mobile analytics platforms such as Adobe Analytics and an understanding of digital measurement, customer journeys, event data, or behavioral analytics is strongly preferred.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to engage business stakeholders in business terms, understand their objectives and challenges, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and translate those needs into practical data and analytics solutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the energy and initiative to drive work forward, develop and manage team members, influence stakeholders, and build enthusiasm around the effective use of data across the organization. Experience within financial services, fintech, lending, banking, or credit card operations is a plus.
