Senior Associate or Counsel, Trust & Estate Litigation

ABOUT THE ROLE A well-established Bay Area law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to help lead its growing Trust & Estate Litigation practice. This senior role will drive complex case strategy, mentor attorneys, and contribute to the group's continued development. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Lead complex trust, probate, and fiduciary litigation matters from inception through resolution. - Develop case strategy for will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and elder abuse matters. - Represent trustees, executors, administrators, beneficiaries, seniors, and their families. - Build client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor and primary contact on key matters. - Contribute to business development and the growth of the practice. - Supervise, delegate work to, and mentor associate attorneys. - Help shape the direction and culture of the Trust & Estate Litigation Group. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 8 years of dedicated trust and estate litigation experience in California, with active involvement in litigation matters. - Expertise in probate court proceedings, will and trust contests, fiduciary duty claims, accounting disputes, surcharge actions, and related elder abuse litigation. - Active membership in the State Bar of California in good standing. - A Juris Doctor from an accredited law school. - Experience leading complex case strategy and supervising or mentoring junior attorneys. - Leadership skills and interest in developing a growing practice group; Bay Area trust and estate litigation relationships are valued. - Collaborative approach and willingness to work from the San Mateo, Pleasanton, or San Jose office. - Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION Hybrid, with San Mateo as the primary location. Pleasanton and San Jose office options are also available.
