Senior Employment Law Attorney

ABOUT THE ROLE A California employment defense practice is seeking a senior attorney to handle complex employer-side litigation and counseling. This role offers the opportunity to lead matters, mentor junior attorneys, and help grow client relationships. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Defend employers in state and federal litigation involving FEHA, Title VII, wage and hour claims, and PAGA class actions. - Manage cases from inception through resolution, including discovery, motions, and appearances before agencies such as the EEOC, CRD, and DLSE. - Advise clients on workforce management, HR policies, and compliance with California employment laws. - Develop client relationships and contribute to practice growth through existing and new business. - Lead case strategy and supervise and mentor junior associates. - Handle employment matters for technology companies and middle-market businesses. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 8 years of post-JD experience in California employer-side employment litigation. - Active California Bar membership and a JD from an ABA-accredited law school. - Demonstrated experience defending FEHA, PAGA, wage and hour, and class action matters, including complex cases. - Experience with trade secret and unfair competition litigation, and appearances before the EEOC, CRD, or DLSE. - Employment law experience that includes litigation and HR counseling. - Employer-side practice background, with client origination and business development experience and a portable book of business. - Experience at a mid-size regional firm or established employment law boutique, and ability to supervise and mentor junior attorneys. - Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $225,000 to $275,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION Remote role based in California, with the position associated with offices in San Jose, San Mateo, or Pleasanton.
