Design Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join a small product team building a cloud infrastructure platform for developers. You will refine key product flows, bring visual details to a high level of craft, and implement polished interfaces alongside frontend engineers. The role offers room to grow into broader ownership of product design. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Improve information architecture and core workflows across a complex SaaS product. - Build detailed, production-ready interfaces using React and TypeScript. - Polish micro-interactions, including icon animations and loading states. - Collaborate with product and frontend engineering on design reviews and implementation. - Help establish reusable components and patterns as product surfaces evolve. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Two to five years of experience as a frontend engineer or design engineer working on SaaS interfaces. - Production-grade frontend experience with React and TypeScript, with most of your work focused on shipping code. - Experience designing or building complex dashboards, including dense tables and forms, ideally in SaaS or developer tools. - A portfolio or work sample that demonstrates strong visual craft, attention to detail, and thoughtful micro-interactions. - Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams at design-forward organizations. - Familiarity with Figma, sound design judgment, and an interest in reusable systems and components. - Willingness to work in person five days a week in New York City. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $220,000 to $280,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in New York, New York, United States.
