Founding Product Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join a small, fast-moving AI company building coding agents for hedge funds. As the first engineering hire, you will help mature the core product and work directly with customers to turn research needs into reliable software. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build and improve coding agents that create custom data pipelines, web scrapers, and dashboards for customers. - Manage remote development environments and infrastructure for customer deployments. - Work with customers to understand research goals and deliver tailored software solutions. - Take features from design and scoping through implementation and delivery. - Develop agent skills, tool libraries, and scaffolding to expand the platform's capabilities. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Two to four years of full-stack product engineering experience, with work shipped end to end across frontend, backend, and data. - Experience delivering applied product engineering, including LLM-powered applications or coding agents. - Proficiency with Python, React, SQL, PostgreSQL, DuckDB, LLMs, and agent frameworks. - Experience building data pipelines involving web scraping, API integrations, and ETL for structured or unstructured sources. - Customer-facing engineering experience, including translating requirements into shipped products. - A bachelor's degree in computer science or a STEM field, with strong technical fundamentals. - Finance, investing, or financial data product experience is valuable. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $165,000 to $210,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in San Francisco, California, United States.
