Senior Java Backend Developer

We’re looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team in Yerevan and help build a large-scale technology platform from the ground up. This is more than a development role - you’ll have the opportunity to influence the architecture, core technical decisions, and engineering standards of a new product from its earliest stages. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Design and develop scalable backend architecture and microservices using Java, Spring & Spring Boot - Build core services, frameworks, and integrations that will become the foundation of a large-scale platform - Make architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term technical strategy - Develop reliable, high-performance services with a strong focus on clean and maintainable code - Work closely with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into effective technical solutions - Take ownership of technical challenges and drive solutions from idea to implementation - Contribute to engineering standards and best practices as the platform grows WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - Strong commercial experience with Java 17+ - Solid hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot - Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture - Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases - Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD and modern deployment pipelines - Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset - Ability to make technical decisions independently and take responsibility for the outcome - Experience building systems or products from scratch will be a strong advantage WHY JOIN US? - Build from zero: your technical decisions will directly shape the foundation of the product - Real architectural influence: you’ll have a voice in choosing approaches, technologies, and engineering standards - Modern tech stack: work with Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, Docker, and modern CI/CD practices - Ownership: we’re looking for engineers who want to take responsibility, not just complete tickets - Growth opportunity: join at an early stage and grow together with the product and engineering team - Collaborative environment: work closely with experienced professionals across different functions LOCATION & FORMAT Yerevan, Armenia - on-site.
