Chemistry Teacher

We are looking for a Middle School Chemistry Teacher for a bilingual international school in Shanghai’s Pudong district. Job Responsibilities - Teach chemistry to middle school students within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) - Plan inquiry-based lessons that connect chemical concepts with real-world applications - Develop students’ scientific understanding, experimental skills and ability to analyse evidence - Organise practical investigations and ensure safe handling of laboratory equipment and chemicals - Guide students in forming hypotheses, interpreting data and evaluating scientific conclusions - Assess learning using MYP criteria and provide constructive feedback - Collaborate with science colleagues on curriculum planning and interdisciplinary learning Requirements - Bachelor’s degree - Recognised teaching qualification - Previous teaching experience in China - Strong subject knowledge in chemistry and understanding of laboratory safety - Ability to plan and deliver inquiry-based science lessons within the IB MYP framework - Strong communication, collaboration and classroom management skills Benefits Salary and Benefits - Monthly salary of RMB 25,000–35,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications - Monthly housing allowance of RMB 6,000 - Annual flight allowance - Full medical insurance - Summer and winter holidays - Public holidays
