Job Title: IT & Fabrication Systems Lead – Onsite IT, MSP Liaison & Odoo MRP (Pipe Fabrication & Modular Manufacturing) Location: Duncan, SC Reports To: Fablogix VP of Operations and Kelso VP of IT Job Type: Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a hands-on, service-oriented IT and systems lead who ensures technology supports the business and improves how the fabrication operation runs. The IT & Fabrication Systems Lead is Fablogix's on-site technology point person, supporting office staff, project teams, and shop-floor operations across our pipe fabrication and modular manufacturing facilities, in partnership with Kelso corporate IT and our IT Master Services Provider (MSP). This role owns the Odoo MRP system and evaluates and optimizes the overall fabrication system: how work, materials, and information move from engineering release through spooling, cutting, welding, assembly, QA/QC, and shipment. The Lead identifies bottlenecks and gaps, recommends improvements, and helps Operations leadership increase throughput, traceability, and quality. The role works closely with the MSP, which delivers day-to-day IT operations such as help desk, network, server, security, and device management. The Lead is the on-site liaison who coordinates that work, provides hands-on help at the site when needed, holds the MSP to its service levels, and makes sure every new hire is productive on day one. This person works closely with Operations, Production, Engineering, Procurement, Accounting, HR, Kelso corporate IT, and the MSP to keep the business moving as it grows. Key Responsibilities Odoo MRP & Fabrication System Ownership - Serve as the system owner, primary interface, and first-line troubleshooter for the Odoo MRP system across production, inventory, purchasing, and accounting users. - Evaluate the overall fabrication system end-to-end, from engineering release and detailing through spooling, cutting, welding, assembly, QA/QC, and shipment, to identify bottlenecks, manual workarounds, data gaps, and rework drivers. - Recommend and implement optimizations across Odoo, detailing and fabrication software, shop floor tablets, and material tracking, prioritizing changes by their impact on throughput, quality, and traceability. - Own Odoo configuration decisions at the site, ensuring workflows, routings, work centers, and bills of material reflect how the shop actually runs. - Track fabrication performance measures such as throughput, schedule adherence, labor hours, and rework, and report findings and recommendations to the Fablogix VP of Operations and Kelso VP of IT. - Partner with Operations, Engineering, Production, and Quality to support traceability and documentation requirements on data center and life sciences projects, such as material certifications, heat numbers, and weld records. - Resolve user issues, manage user access and roles, and escalate to the Odoo implementation partner or MSP as needed. - Train users on Odoo workflows and develop job aids and quick-reference guides. - Support data integrity, reporting, and system updates within the MRP. MSP Partnership & Site IT Coordination - Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for the MSP, which delivers day-to-day IT operations including help desk, network, server, security, and device management. - Coordinate MSP tickets, escalations, scheduled work, and site visits, making sure user issues are submitted clearly and resolved on time. - Provide hands-on onsite assistance to the MSP when physical presence is needed, such as hardware swaps, equipment moves, connectivity checks, and maintenance windows. - Work with the MSP to plan network and connectivity requirements for new fabrication equipment, shop floor devices, and production lines. - Track MSP service levels and open issues, and report recurring problems and improvement opportunities to the Fablogix VP of Operations and Kelso VP of IT. - Keep site documentation current with the MSP, including network layout, equipment, licenses, system integrations, and vendor contacts. New Hire Setup & Onboarding - Coordinate with HR, hiring managers, and the MSP so new hires have configured devices, accounts, email, and role-based access ready on their first day. - Submit account and access requests to the MSP and verify they are complete before start dates. - Deliver new hire onboarding on company systems, Odoo, shop floor applications, security practices, and acceptable use. - Coordinate offboarding by recovering equipment and confirming the MSP removes system access promptly. IT Equipment, Mobile Devices & Shop Tablets - Directs IT equipment purchases, including computers, monitors, peripherals, printers, networking gear, cell phones, and shop tablets, within Kelso IT standards and approved budget, working with Procurement and the MSP. - Maintain an accurate site IT asset inventory covering assignment, warranty, and replacement lifecycle, in coordination with the MSP. - Serve as the site contact for company cell phones, coordinating carrier changes, device setup, and replacements. - Coordinate setup and support of shop floor tablets used for drawings, travelers, time entry, and Odoo work orders, including rugged cases, mounting, and charging. End-User Support & Security - Act as the first onsite contact for office and shop users, handling quick fixes and routing issues to the MSP help desk with clear, actionable detail. - Reinforce security practices such as multi-factor authentication, password standards, device updates, and phishing awareness, in support of Kelso IT and MSP security programs. - Support client-driven IT and document security requirements on data center and life sciences projects, in coordination with Kelso IT and the MSP. - Coordinate IT and fabrication systems setup for facility expansions and new sites with Kelso IT and the MSP. Qualifications & Skills Technical Skills - Associate's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent work experience; CompTIA A+ or Network+ a plus. - 5+ years of IT, manufacturing systems, or ERP/MRP experience, including at least 2 years designing, implementing, or leading systems in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial environment. - Demonstrated experience designing system architectures or integrations across ERP/MRP, shop floor, and engineering applications, including data flows, APIs, or file-based integrations. - Hands-on ERP or MRP experience (Odoo, SAP, or similar) in a manufacturing environment, including configuration of routings, work centers, bills of material, and inventory. - Familiarity with fabrication and detailing software and BIM-to-fabrication workflows (e.g., Autodesk Revit and Fabrication, Trimble, MSUITE, or similar) strongly preferred. - Experience with shop floor technologies such as barcode or RFID tracking, digital travelers, labor and time capture, and connected fabrication equipment a plus. - Working knowledge of Windows desktop configuration, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive), and Active Directory or Entra ID. - Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DHCP/DNS, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and VPN. - Experience setting up and supporting mobile devices and tablets (iOS/Android), including mobile device management tools. - Experience working alongside a Managed or Master Services Provider (MSP) preferred. Leadership & Professional Attributes - Proven ability to lead cross-functional technology projects from requirements through go-live, including vendor and partner management. - Systems thinker who can map how work and data move through a fabrication operation and design practical improvements. - Able to build a business case and present a roadmap clearly to operations and executive leadership. - Service-minded and patient, able to explain technology clearly to both office and shop users. - Organized and self-directed, with strong follow-through on tickets, orders, projects, and documentation. - Comfortable working on an active shop floor in an industrial environment, using required PPE. - Clear communicator who can turn user issues into actionable requests for the MSP and vendors. - Trustworthy with confidential information and administrative system access.
