Civil Litigation Associate or Partner

ABOUT THE ROLE Join a trial-focused litigation practice as an associate with 7 or more years of experience, or as a partner. You will handle civil matters from inception through trial and build hands-on courtroom experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Manage civil litigation matters from inception through trial. - Draft discovery requests and responses, and prepare substantive motions. - Take and defend depositions. - Participate in trials as first or second chair. - Work directly with clients, insurance carriers, and claims handlers. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 7 years of post-bar experience in civil litigation or transferable courtroom practice. - Admission to the New York State Bar and experience practicing in New York. - Insurance defense experience, with a demonstrated interest in trial work. - Strong legal writing skills and a writing sample. - Experience with motion practice and depositions; first- or second-chair trial experience is valued. - Comfort with a 2,000 billable-hour requirement. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary is $150,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION On-site in Fishkill, New York, five days per week. Candidates should be able to commute to the office.
