Bankruptcy Attorney (Debtor Litigation), Partner or Senior Associate

ABOUT THE ROLE Join an established bankruptcy and commercial litigation practice as a debtor-side bankruptcy litigator. You will handle complex disputes and help maintain client relationships as part of a long-term practice succession. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Lead debtor-side bankruptcy litigation, including adversary proceedings, contested matters, and related disputes. - Manage matters from case strategy through courtroom advocacy and resolution. - Work with bankruptcy partners and the commercial litigation team to provide coordinated representation. - Build and maintain client relationships, including stewardship of transitioning clients. - Contribute to business development and the practice's long-term leadership. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - 8 to 15 or more years of bankruptcy litigation experience, with a focus on representing debtors. - Experience with adversary proceedings, contested matters, bankruptcy court hearings, and Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases. - Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active admission to the New York Bar. - Strong command of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules, along with litigation experience beyond transactional restructuring. - Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, and Microsoft Office. - Ability to manage a practice independently, collaborate openly, and steward client relationships through a partner transition. - A portable bankruptcy practice and business development experience are valued. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $275,000 to $400,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION On-site in New York, New York.
