Air Liquide Singapore provides innovative, responsive and customer focused services to our product range, which improves the performance of our customers while helping protect the environment. At Air Liquide, we go beyond simply selling molecules of gases. We believe in learning our customers' businesses to provide them with true value. We ask key questions and we listen. That dialogue continues throughout our relationship with our customers as we seek to contribute ideas to help them improve their operational processes, both business and manufacturing, while improving our own business process. We commit ourselves to understand and fulfill our customers' requirements and expectations. We shall carry out our activities in a manner which: Uses the ISO 9001 Quality Standard to verify the quality and continuous improvement of our policies, procedures, work instructions and management systems. Ensures that our products and services satisfy the highest standards, through the application of best practices. There is a premier opportunity to design, lead, and manage the electrical and distribution control systems for our cutting-edge Chemical and Slurry Distribution turnkey projects. This strategic on-site and engineering role is structured for an experienced professional who will take complete ownership of the electrical and control architecture—from conceptual design and schematic review to the management of specialized sub-contractors executing the physical installation, testing, and commissioning. In this role, you will act as the core technical lead, bridging the gap between design and field execution. You will manage external contractors, provide high-level software and PLC/HMI debugging support, and resolve complex system faults to deliver safe, fully validated, and high-performance equipment to our clients. How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Core Responsibilities 1. Electrical & Control Design Leadership - Engineering & Design Ownership: Lead, design, and approve the distribution control and electrical systems, ensuring strict alignment with client specifications, project schedules, and corporate safety standards. - Schematic Review & As-Builts: Direct the preparation, review, and redrafting of electrical schematics, control panel drawings, cable schedules, and instrument loop diagrams. - Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure that all control systems, wiring paths, and electrical components strictly comply with international semiconductor standards and local cleanroom EHS regulations. 2. Contractor & Execution Management - Subcontractor Oversight: Directly manage, supervise, and coordinate on-site electrical and control contractors during physical installations, cable routing, and control panel setups. - Scheduling & Progress Verification: Evaluate contractor progress claims, monitor execution timelines, and ensure work is completed to the highest engineering quality before commissioning stages begin. - Quality Audits: Work alongside local and third-party QA/QC leads to inspect electrical containment, safety grounding, and termination quality. 3. Managed Testing & Commissioning Coordination - Commissioning Management: Lead and manage the overall testing and commissioning sequences. Define testing protocols and direct contractors through comprehensive I/O loop checks and signal validation. - Safety Interlock Validation: Coordinate with commissioning leads and contractors to execute, log, and verify fail-safe safety interlocks, EMO circuits, and automated alarm sequences. - Field Support Coordination: Act as the primary escalation point, providing technical direction to on-site Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and contractors during startup and wet-testing phases. 4. System Integration & Software Debugging - Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform complex root-cause analyses on software anomalies, electrical hardware faults, and network communication bottlenecks on-site. - On-Site PLC/HMI Debugging: Support the project team by directly debugging software, adjusting PLC/HMI parameters, and troubleshooting control loops when field-level logic updates are required. After completion, accurately provide feedback on the modification details to the team so that subsequent updates can be made - SCADA & Network Integration: Direct the integration of standalone Chemical Distribution Modules (CDMs) with facility-wide SCADA platforms and Ethernet/IP networks, coordinating with client automation teams. Are you a MATCH? Key Candidate Requirements - Possesses University degree in Electrical, Controls, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent industrial experience). - Industrial Automation Proficiency: Practical expertise in PLC/HMI platforms and TCP/IP networking protocols, with a strong capability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software parameters. - Software Experiences and Knowledge: A proven understanding of OPC Servers (e.g., RSLinx, Kepware/IGS), SCADA platforms (e.g Cimplicity, Wonderware) and PLC/HMI software (Allen Bradley Studio 5000 / Logix 5000, Emerson (GE) Proficy Machine Edition, Siemens TIA Portal). - Systems Design & Management Experience: Proven track record in designing, leading, and managing electrical/control systems for process fluid, chemical, or slurry distribution networks. - Contractor Supervision: Strong experience in managing electrical and automation sub-contractors on-site during large-scale industrial or semiconductor project executions. - Collaborative Communication: Exceptional leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to confidently interface with global engineering teams, local sub-contractor managers, and client representatives. **We thank you for your interest in Air Liquide.
