About the job

The Opportunity Some people prefer to start early and still have most of the afternoon ahead of them. If that sounds like you, this permanent Monday-to-Friday opportunity as an Operations Team Member with Lysaght in Albury could be a good fit. You’ll work from 5:00am to 1:06pm, with some overtime when needed, as part of a small operations team making and preparing steel building products for customers across the region. You might already have experience in manufacturing, warehousing or operating machinery. Or you might be coming from somewhere completely different and looking for permanent, hands-on work where you can learn as you go. You don't need manufacturing experience to apply. You don't need to know steel, either. Being someone your teammates can rely on, taking pride in doing a good job and being willing to learn will be valuable here. You’ll work closely with the people around you, so being comfortable asking questions, sharing what you see and lending a hand when it’s needed is all part of the job. Made in Australia since 1921, Lysaght manufactures and markets steel building products that have helped shape the nation: from iconic corrugated roofing over Australian homes, to large commercial and industrial projects. What Will You Do? The work is varied and hands-on, and we’ll train and support you as you learn. You’ll: - operate machinery that transforms steel into Lysaght building products - check products carefully for quality - pick, pack and prepare customer orders - safely load and unload trucks - operate material-handling equipment, including a forklift - keep work areas organised and ready for the next job - help customers and drivers attending the site - work with your teammates to keep orders moving safely and on time Safety is a big part of how we work. If something doesn’t look right, we want you to feel comfortable saying so, and if you see a way we could make the work safer or better, we want to hear that too. More About You This role could suit you if you’ve worked in a warehouse, retail, hospitality, transport, construction, agriculture or another hands-on environment and like the idea of learning something new. You might be a good fit if you: - enjoy practical, physically active work - like working with others and being part of a small team - take pride in doing a job properly - pay attention to safety and quality - are comfortable asking questions and learning how things work - are happy to help customers, drivers or teammates when needed - hold a forklift licence, or are willing to obtain one with our support and training As part of our commitment to building a more inclusive workforce, we encourage applications from women, First Nations people and people from different industries, experiences and backgrounds. What’s on Offer? This is a permanent, full-time role with a consistent weekday roster. A 5:00am start is early, but it also means finishing at 1:06pm with much of the afternoon still ahead of you. You’ll also have: - Monday to Friday work, 5:00am to 1:06pm - 12% superannuation - eligibility for a quarterly performance bonus - training to learn the role and operate different equipment - forklift training if required - overtime opportunities when available - free onsite parking - employee benefits and wellbeing support - opportunities to keep learning and developing across Lysaght and BlueScope You’ll be joining a small team where people know one another and enjoy working together. The team also gets together for social activities from time to time, with plenty of opportunity to get involved if you’d like to.
