Founding Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join an early-stage AI customer success software team as a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer. You will work directly with enterprise customers to put AI agents into production, deliver measurable value, and bring field learnings back into the product. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Work with customers to understand their onboarding, adoption, and renewal processes and identify where AI agents can help. - Configure and deploy agents with customer data sources and systems, including data warehouses, CRM platforms, SSO, and other integrations. - Build evaluations using real customer data, improve agent performance, and validate quality before deployments. - Partner with go-to-market teams during technical sales, customer activation, and account expansion. - Improve the core platform based on customer needs and resolve issues in live deployments through debugging and root cause analysis. - Own focused end-to-end projects that demonstrate value, then expand successful deployments. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Three to seven years of experience in customer-facing software engineering, forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, or a related role. - Experience owning technical customer rollouts and building and deploying LLM agents, including prompts, evaluations, and complex, long-running workflows. - Strong Python and FastAPI skills, with React experience; familiarity with LLMs, RAG, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, CI/CD, and agent frameworks is relevant. - Experience in an early-stage, high-growth startup environment, alongside customer-facing deployment work. - Strong computer science fundamentals, stable role tenure, and evidence of career growth. - Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, with experience working in a hybrid environment. - Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary range: $180,000 to $230,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available. LOCATION Hybrid in San Francisco, California, United States.
