Head of Talent

ABOUT THE ROLE Build and lead the in-house talent function for a high-growth fintech company scaling its team. This player-coach role combines hands-on recruiting with talent strategy, executive partnership, and team leadership. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build the sourcing and full-cycle recruiting function, and hire and lead a team of 3 to 6 recruiters alongside the existing team. - Personally source and close technical engineering candidates while recruiting for go-to-market, product, design, and operations roles. - Partner with executives on headcount plans, hiring budgets, compensation, and leveling frameworks. - Track pipeline health, time to fill, and recruiting analytics, and report on hiring progress. - Establish structured interviews and calibrated scorecards to support a timely, consistent hiring process. - Own the transition from hiring to onboarding, hire an HR generalist, and establish foundations for future HR leadership. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - At least 8 years of talent leadership experience, including hands-on recruiting alongside leadership responsibilities. - Experience building an in-house talent function at a high-growth, venture-backed startup and scaling company headcount, ideally from approximately 30 to 90 or more employees. - Strong technical recruiting skills, including sourcing and closing engineering candidates, as well as experience recruiting for non-technical roles. - Experience leading recruiters and partnering closely with founders or executives on headcount planning, compensation, recruiting analytics, and reporting. - Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and Rippling. - Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder.
