Senior Finance Manager - 12-Month Maternity Cover We’re looking for an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join Ryze Power in Oxford on a 12-month maternity cover, owning month-end, VAT, audit and cash forecasting for HydraB’s energy transition business. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧 The UK’s fleets are going zero-emission, and they need the energy to get there. Ryze Power provides it - supplying hydrogen, building EV charging infrastructure and delivering energy services for commercial fleet, industrial and public sector customers across the UK. From hydrogen bought and sold to infrastructure projects delivered on the ground, Ryze is where the transition to zero-emission transport becomes real. As part of HydraB Group, alongside businesses building the vehicles and hydrogen infrastructure behind that shift, Ryze brings it all together for the customer. 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 This is a hands-on, individual contributor role covering Ryze Power’s full reporting cycle - month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, quarterly VAT, audit and cash flow forecasting. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll own Ryze Power’s results and sub-ledgers in Sage Intacct, while Group Finance manages consolidation and treasury. You’ll work closely with Ryze’s operations and sales teams, Group Finance and Legal. Support is there when you need it, but this role needs someone who can pick things up quickly and run with it from day one. It’s a full-time role, based fully on-site in Oxford, 5 days a week. 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨’𝗟𝗟 𝗔𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗬 𝗗𝗢 → Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting cycle, producing accurate and timely management accounts → Own month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations, keeping the control environment strong → Prepare quarterly VAT returns and manage other statutory and tax filings → Coordinate the external audit - auditor queries and year-end financial statements → Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning, working with Group Finance on treasury → Get to grips with the commercials of the business - stock, fixed assets, project costs and revenue, and hydrogen bought and sold → Keep Ryze Power’s sub-ledgers and intercompany balances accurate and reconciled ahead of Group consolidation → Oversee invoicing, collections, credit control and supplier payments to keep working capital under control → Ensure compliance with FRS 102, the Companies Act and Group accounting policies, including fixed asset accounting and capitalisation → Spot and deliver improvements to finance processes, controls and reporting 𝗬𝗢𝗨’𝗟𝗟 𝗕𝗘 𝗔 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧 𝗙𝗜𝗧 𝗜𝗙 𝗬𝗢𝗨 → Are ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience, including time as a Finance Manager or similar → Have owned month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, VAT and audit hands-on → Know UK GAAP and FRS 102 well, and have worked in a group structure with intercompany and consolidation reporting → Have experience in a growing SME, engineering, manufacturing or project-based environment → Have advanced Excel skills and a high level of accuracy → Are a natural problem solver who picks things up quickly and can run with it without close supervision → Are proactive and keep people in the loop - no surprises → Build good relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues, and can explain the numbers clearly 𝗡𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗛𝗔𝗩𝗘 → Sage Intacct experience, or a similar cloud ERP → Experience in energy, hydrogen or infrastructure project accounting 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗥 → Pension - up to 8% employer contribution → Private medical & dental → 25 days holiday + bank holidays, with buy & sell flexibility → Life assurance - 4x basic salary → Income protection → Electric car salary sacrifice scheme → Cycle to Work scheme → Critical illness cover → Employee referral bonus → Employee Assistance Programme - 24/7, 365 days → Retail discounts & cashback via Fizz Benefits → Eyecare vouchers - Specsavers Ryze Power is part of HydraB Group, pioneering the UK’s transition to net zero energy and transport - building the hydrogen and electric infrastructure that gets the sector to scale.
