Product Designer

TL;DR: We’re looking for a Product Designer to turn complex AI safety workflows into simple, intuitive interfaces used by engineering and research teams every day. You’ll own design end to end: evolve our Figma design system, improve existing screens, create new product flows, prototype interactions, and work closely with product, engineering, and research to ship quickly. If you want to work deeply on hard problems, see your work ship to production quickly, and influence how AI safety is actually built – you’re the one we need WHAT YOU’LL DO - Evolve the Figma design system so it stays consistent, scalable, and easy to work with - Update current screens and design new flows for upcoming features - Work directly with product, engineering, and research — fast iterations and full ownership - Collaborate closely with engineers during implementation: review builds, catch inconsistencies, and make sure what ships matches the design - Prototype interactions, both in Figma and with AI or code tools when it helps WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - 6+ years working with Figma: Auto Layout, Components, Variants, Prototyping, Design Systems, Figma Variables - You’ve designed clear, functional web interfaces, ideally for technical products - You can create basic animations with any tools you prefer - You use AI tools in your own workflow And don’t worry if you don’t meet every point — if you’re close and eager to grow, we still want to hear from you BONUS POINTS - Basic HTML/CSS knowledge, enough to understand constraints or tweak styles yourself - Experience with React or reading frontend code - Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or design tokens in code - Experience prototyping with code or AI tools (v0, Cursor, Claude Code, Framer) - Experience designing data-heavy interfaces: dashboards, tables, developer tools COMPENSATION & BENEFITS - Competitive compensation package, including equity - Flexible time off - Health insurance - Mental health support, including coverage for therapy when you need it - 401(k) retirement plan - Learning and development support for courses, conferences, and opportunities to grow your skills - All the hardware, subscriptions, tools, and services you need - Team off-sites twice a year: we’ve recently been to the Alps, Saint-Tropez, and Marbella PROCESS 1.
