Founding Senior Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Join an early-stage AI company building an intelligent growth platform for consumer brands. As a founding-level engineer, you will ship product hands-on, shape the technical foundation, and help establish engineering practices as the team grows. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Build data infrastructure that tracks merchant lifecycle events and connects actions to outcomes. - Develop an AI-powered growth system that assesses operations, identifies improvements, and executes changes automatically. - Own full-stack development of the growth engine, with a strong focus on backend systems and infrastructure. - Build and maintain reliable integrations with commerce, advertising, and marketing platforms. - Help define architecture and engineering culture while mentoring engineers and contributing code daily. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR - Five to eight years of full-stack engineering experience, with strong backend expertise in data infrastructure, event systems, and API integrations. - Experience building and owning production-grade LLM-powered or agentic systems that integrate with third-party APIs. - Proficiency with Python and TypeScript, plus experience with tools such as Shopify, Meta Ads API, TikTok Ads API, and Klaviyo. - Experience leading or mentoring engineers in a player-coach capacity. - Early-stage startup or 0-to-1 product-building experience, and the ability to prioritize effectively in ambiguous environments. - Strong communication skills and a track record of sustained contributions in previous roles. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Base salary: $175,000 to $225,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available. LOCATION On-site in New York, New York, United States.
