AHEAD is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to join the team that builds the software behind Foundry. We’re a leading IT services provider, trusted by some of the world’s largest companies to design, build, run, and modernize their most important technology across cloud, data, AI, and security. Foundry is AHEAD's engineering and integration arm, designing and deploying custom enterprise infrastructure from the data center to the edge. Signal is our in-house ERP application, built to run the operational backbone of Foundry, supporting workflows like production and work order management, inventory and materials tracking, procurement, and integration scheduling. Signal is the system of record that keeps engineering, operations, and delivery teams aligned as infrastructure moves through design, build, and deployment. You’ll join a globally distributed, progressive engineering team across the US and India that lives on the forefront of technology: one that builds real products, adopts new tools early, and never stops learning. As a Senior Developer on the team, you’ll own features from design to delivery, working primarily in Elixir, Phoenix, and Phoenix LiveView. You’ll help shape Signal’s architecture, raise the bar on code quality, and mentor other engineers as we grow the Foundry team in India. Your success will be measured by the quality and impact of what you ship, and by how much better you make the engineers around you. We’re looking for an engineer who uses AI tools and coding agents fluently while holding a high bar on review, testing, and ownership. As AI takes on more of the routine, an engineer’s edge comes from judgment, product sense, and the discipline to verify what ships. Use AI tools and coding agents as a force multiplier, while staying fully accountable for the correctness, security, and maintainability of what you ship. Review AI-generated code with the same rigor as any other code, and know when to push back on it. Help shape the team’s AI workflows, tooling, and standards, and share what’s working with the rest of the team. What Will You Be Doing? Design, build, and maintain features in Signal, Foundry’s in-house ERP, primarily in Elixir, Phoenix, and Phoenix LiveView. Lead and own product features end to end, from requirements and design through delivery, production support, and iteration. Work across Signal’s core workflows, including production and work order management, inventory and materials tracking, procurement, and integration scheduling. Collaborate closely with developers, product, and operations stakeholders across the US and India, including regular overlap with US working hours. Participate in the design of large, complex solutions and help the team make sound architectural decisions. Write well-tested, maintainable code, and keep quality high through thorough, constructive code reviews. Mentor and support other engineers, and help build a strong engineering culture within the India team. Build and maintain integrations between Signal and other AHEAD platforms and third-party systems. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, and leave the system better than you found it. Contribute to the team’s roadmap, development processes, and engineering standards. What Does the Ideal Candidate Look Like? 6+ years of professional software development experience. Strong proficiency in Elixir and Phoenix, with hands-on experience building applications in Phoenix LiveView. Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred), data modeling, and Ecto. Good testing practices and experience with CI/CD, build tooling, and containerization. Fluency with modern AI development tools and coding agents, and the judgment to verify what they produce. A strong understanding of and passion for software design, architecture, and usability. Experience with other backend languages, and some experience with JavaScript and front-end frameworks. Experience working on a distributed team across time zones, with clear, direct written and verbal communication in English. Comfortable working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to turn business problems into working software. Comfortable with ambiguity and able to make sound decisions with incomplete information. Driven to keep learning and stay current with the latest in development practices and tooling. Familiarity with REST and GraphQL APIs and cloud infrastructure is a plus. Experience with ERP systems, manufacturing, or supply chain is a plus.
