Trainee Casualty Adjuster
Job Location: Field-based, Ireland, covering West/North-West, and/or the Midlands
Job Type: Permanent, full time
Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications
Start your career in casualty loss adjusting with expert support and hands-on experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to build a career in casualty loss adjusting, gaining hands-on experience across Employers’ Liability, Public Liability and Motor Liability claims. With structured training and support from experienced adjusters and technical colleagues, you’ll develop the knowledge, judgement and confidence needed to investigate claims, assess liability and progress cases towards fair and effective outcomes.
You’ll work on a varied portfolio of claims, gathering evidence, reviewing the circumstances of incidents and helping to form evidence-based liability recommendations. As your experience grows, you’ll develop skills across reserving, report writing, negotiation and settlement, while learning how to manage claims proactively and balance the needs of clients, insurers, claimants and other stakeholders. The role may also take you out on the road, attending accident locations, insured premises and other sites to support investigations.
Throughout your development, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues through technical training, coaching and file reviews, while working towards a recognised insurance or loss adjusting qualification such as the CIP. As your technical capability develops, you’ll progressively take on greater responsibility and authority, providing a clear pathway towards becoming an accomplished Casualty Adjuster.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team where curiosity, ownership and continuous learning are encouraged. If you’re analytical, confident communicating with different people and interested in developing a long-term career within insurance and loss adjusting, this role offers the opportunity to learn the profession from the ground up.
We have two field-based opportunities available, ideally appointing one person based in or around the West/North-West of Ireland and one in or around the Midlands. While each role will have a primary geographical focus, both positions will require flexibility to travel and support claims across both territories when needed.
The skills you will have when you apply:
- Professional development: A relevant insurance qualification, such as CIP, would be beneficial, or a willingness to work towards an appropriate professional qualification with our support.
- Career motivation: A genuine interest in developing a career in insurance claims and loss adjusting, with enthusiasm for learning and developing your technical knowledge.
- Travel and flexibility: Comfortable working in a field-based role and travelling throughout the West/North-West and Midlands as required to attend site visits, investigations and meetings.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly, accurately and professionally.
- Analytical thinking: Good numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review information and reach logical conclusions.
- Organisation: Strong organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Customer focus: A professional, respectful and customer-focused approach when dealing with clients, claimants and other stakeholders.
- Initiative and judgement: Comfortable working independently on allocated tasks, while recognising when to seek guidance or escalate a matter to a more experienced colleague.
- Digital confidence: Confident using Microsoft Office applications and comfortable learning new claims management systems and technology.
What we’ll give you for this role:
- Bonus/incentive scheme
- 20 days' annual leave entitlement
- Company car, where applicable to the role
- Bike to Work Scheme
- Tax Saver Travel Scheme
- Discounted onsite Gym Membership (Dublin 4)
