Senior Back-end Developer (Python)

The result: agencies save time, communication becomes clearer, and patients get better care. The role We’re looking for a Senior Back-end Developer (Python: Django + FastAPI) to join our team. You’ll be building features that directly impact thousands of caregivers and patients — from smart scheduling and alert systems to billing workflows and integrations with third-party services. Our existing platform is built with Django, while our next-generation backend is being developed using FastAPI and modern asynchronous technologies. Required experience and skills - 6+ years of professional experience in Python development - Strong production experience with Django, Django REST Framework and/or FastAPI. Practical experience with FastAPI is highly preferred. - Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including database design, query optimization and performance tuning. - Experience with Redis, Celery or similar background processing frameworks, and task queues or message brokers such as RabbitMQ, Redis, or equivalent technologies. - Good understanding of asynchronous programming in Python and experience building async applications. - Experience with WebSockets/SSE, Elasticsearch, or similar technologies is a plus. - Strong testing and debugging skills using PyTest or unittest, including unit and integration testing. - Understanding of production deployment and runtime environments, including Docker, Nginx, background workers, CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting. - Strong understanding of software architecture, application performance and scalability. - Ability to design maintainable backend architecture and make well-informed technical trade-offs. - English — intermediate or higher. Nice to have - Experience with FastStream or other asynchronous message-processing frameworks. - Working Experience with frontend applications (Angular) and client-server integration. - Experience with geolocation, mapping or routing services. - Experience working with CI/CD pipelines. Responsibilities - Design and develop new features from scratch to optimize client workflows and increase operational efficiency. - Build and improve algorithms for dispatching, searching, and other core system functionalities. - Design scheduling systems and implement alert systems to notify clients about critical situations within their business. - Develop and maintain logic for billing, payroll, and price calculations. - User management & permissions. - Develop and maintain stable, scalable APIs for web and mobile applications. - Integrate third-party services and external APIs. - Write clean, testable, and maintainable code following industry best practices. - Deliver high-quality code on time. - Maintain system stability, scalability, and performance under growing load.
