Primary School Music Teacher

We are looking for a Primary School Music Teacher for a bilingual international school in Shanghai’s Pudong district. This position is available from the upcoming 2027/28 academic year in August 2027 About the School Located in Shanghai’s Pudong district, this bilingual international school offers a 12-year education pathway from primary to high school. As an IB World School, it delivers the full continuum of PYP, MYP, DP, and CP programs, while also integrating elements of the Chinese national curriculum and international frameworks like IGCSE and AP. Job Responsibilities - Teach music to primary school students through engaging, age-appropriate lessons - Develop students’ skills in singing, instrumental performance, listening and composition - Prepare lesson plans, learning materials and assessments that support different learning needs - Encourage creativity, collaboration and confidence through individual and group music activities - Assess and monitor students’ progress and provide constructive feedback - Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary learning and school performances - Maintain a supportive classroom and guide students in the responsible use of instruments and equipment Requirements - Bachelor’s degree - Recognised teaching qualification - Previous teaching experience in China - Ability to deliver engaging music lessons for primary school students - Strong communication, collaboration and classroom management skills Benefits Salary and Benefits - Monthly salary of RMB 25,000–35,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications - Monthly housing allowance of RMB 6,000 - Annual flight allowance - Full medical insurance - Summer and winter holidays - Public holidays
