Kelso Southwest is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Orbital Welder to perform precision welding on tubing, piping, and related components using orbital welding equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience with orbital welding systems, a strong understanding of welding procedures, and a commitment to producing high-quality, consistent welds that meet industry standards and customer specifications. This position requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a production or fabrication environment. Key Responsibilities - Set up, operate, and maintain orbital welding equipment and associated tooling. - Perform precision orbital welds on stainless steel tubing, piping, and other specified materials. - Prepare, clean, fit, and inspect components prior to welding. - Follow approved welding procedures, work instructions, drawings, and specifications. - Verify weld quality through visual inspection and other required inspection methods. - Troubleshoot welding equipment, parameters, and weld inconsistencies. - Maintain accurate production records and required quality documentation. - Ensure welds meet applicable quality standards and customer requirements. - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. - Work closely with production, quality control, and engineering teams to meet production schedules. - Follow all company safety policies and applicable welding procedures. Qualifications - Previous orbital welding experience preferred. - Familiarity with orbital welding power supplies, weld heads, and purge systems. - Knowledge of stainless steel tubing preparation, fit-up, and contamination prevention. - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and welding procedures. - Understanding of weld inspection and quality control requirements. - Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity. - Ability to troubleshoot equipment and resolve basic welding issues. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Reliable attendance and a commitment to quality and safety. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with automated orbital GTAW (TIG) welding. - Experience in industrial piping, process piping, or precision tube fabrication. - Familiarity with purge gas systems and weld documentation. - Relevant welding certifications or documented welding procedure qualifications. - Experience working in regulated or high-purity fabrication environments, if applicable. Physical Requirements - Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods. - Ability to lift and move materials and equipment within established safety limits. - Ability to wear required personal protective equipment. - Ability to perform detailed visual inspections and work with precision components Why Join Kelso Industries?
